Please be aware that the deadline for Secondary School applications is 31st October 2025
A child in current Year 6 will start secondary school in September 2026 and the parent/carer should make a school place application.
The application deadline is Friday 31st October and it is important that we receive any applications by the deadline.
Parents/carers should apply for a school using as many preferences as possible, we also advise including their catchment school within their preferences.
Parent/carers will be notified of the results of their application on National Offer Day on Monday 2nd March 2026. Parents/carers can apply online or find more information including school admissions policies at www.york.gov.uk/admissions. If there are any issues they can contact the Admissions Team at education@york.gov.uk or 551554 option 2.
If a child is going through Statutory Assessment for an EHCP, they should make an application in the first instance.
If a child has an EHCP, their school application/allocation will be managed by the SEN Team via the consultation process.
